ABOUT BRIAN
My name is Brian Pierson. I served over a decade as an officer in the US Army, taught at West Point, and then launched a career in the private sector as a senior executive. In both the military and the civilian sector I have led a life of service and now I want to continue serving my community as our State Senator, to help make Oregon safe, affordable, and full of economic opportunities for us all.
BRIAN’S PRIORITIES
Bipartisan Solutions:
There has been one-party rule in Salem lately, but our system is designed to work best when there is a balance between the two parties. Each political perspective brings something that our State needs. Regular Oregonians are best served when both sides of the aisle can find a compromise and take a thoughtful, moderate approach to resolving our challenges.
Recommitment to Public Safety:
Regular Oregonians are looking for our leaders to continue to change direction in favor of prioritizing public safety. The recent bipartisan move to re-criminalizing drug use was a step in the right direction, but more can be done to keep our communities safe. Whatever legislation gets proposed, of course, needs to have bi-partisan support and I believe my background in consensus building can help make that a reality.
Growth and Innovation:
Oregon’s business climate must once again be made hospitable for the economic growth our families need. Our tax and regulatory environment must be driven by pragmatism, not ideology. My background in business and job building gives me a remarkably good foundation to help make the right decisions so that we can maintain our Oregon for future generations.
